Tinkle-Tinkle Little...

I regrettably have no photos to post this week. The three little Dodd's spent the weekend on the potty. Saturday Carter actually made it to the potty once, Sunday he did it twice, so I'm hoping we keep progressing!
CW really likes praise. He makes the cutest scrunched up smiley face, and wraps himself around my leg like it is a tree! He has also telling his trains, "good job guys!"
Carter looked in the grocery bags tonight and said WOW! about everything that was in the bags. I think he thought they were gifts or something. He very excited when he found the potty candies! tinkle, tinkle! atd

Big Boy Bed

CW had a hard time deciding what sheets to buy at the store;
Thomas, Racy Car, or Mickey...so many hero's and only one mattress!
Cars and trains slide so much nicer on our new wooden floor...
heads also thump a little harder though!

Cheese shot of the week! (Notice the tape measure on the hip.)

Who is this big kid and where is my baby boy??
Today is our 6th Wedding Anniversary. Neither, Mark or I could even begin to answer the question of where we would be without our chance meeting in a honky tonk almost 9 years ago. God is good all the time...even in strangest to places!

Sweeping looked like fun when daddy was doing it!
Face-Plant! Resulted in ZERO tears. CW was concerned
that Percy (on his shirt) was injured though.

100% BOY

Bet you can't catch me!
The three little Dodd's are doing a happy jig tonight. We have new floors! Daddy and Pa-pa worked very hard this week and the floor looks terrific! Carter enjoys sliding everywhere. I'm happy to have something new to clean. Mark is just glad it is done!
We enjoyed the 75Degree weather today with some fun outside. Carter fell at least a dozen times without any battle scars. Next he fell out of the chair at dinner and actually did get an owie! Go figure.
Carter's new twin bed will be delivered this week. I'm guessing I'm going to lose a few nights sleep wondering now that will work out! Here is hoping that some new character sheets do the trick! xoxo, atd

The Dino ROAR!

This is about as candid as Carter got in this costume. It was suppose to be a green dinosaur. However, some were calling him a frog. He wasn't too found of his costume so I didn't get another picture once the tag came off.
We went to a very wet trunk or treat that was held in doors at Carter's school on Halloween Eve. He got one pack of smarties and just wanted a calm place to sit and enjoy them. Only with much encouragement did he decide to visit other "candy stations." I'm pretty sure CW thought the whole thing was quiet silly. Carter spent most of the week at home. On Thursday, Mark took him to get a his first tape measure. He was SO excited to show it to me when I got home! His favorite thing is to for us to hold the end while he measures something.
Since we had so much time together this week we worked on measuring to the nearest 1/16th of a inch. haha Thomas put in alot of miles this week, and I'm pretty sure I know all the words to the 4 Mickey Mouse Clubhouse videos! O'toodles! atd

Notes from the Teachers

Carter is helping Mickey understand the joy of trains!
Daddy: "Carter what do you do with Playdoh?"
Carter: "I smuch it!"
And he did! Everything we made he smashed, and was quiet proud of himself too!
Today we were leaving the house for an errand. Mark was trying to get Carter to wear his sneakers and Carter wanted to wear his Thomas shoes. Mark says, "how about these shoes?" Carter says "ummm, how about Thomas shoes." Mark and I were laughing so hard. Carter didn't understand what was so funny. Needless to say, he got to wear the Thomas shoes.
One of Carter's teachers told Mark recently that Carter was talking alot more at school. This week he got a "happy gram" that said he was talking more at school. I'm not sure if they are trying to tell us he is talking too much, or they think he has just started talking. I invite anyone who thinks CW is "quiet" to simply place a recording device near him for about 2 minutes. CW talks up a storm. Most of the time I understand it, some of the time I need pills because my head hurts from all the talking. Now quiet evenings are a distant memory, but joy abounds when replaced by the laughter of a son and his daddy! atd

I'm so excited that my friend Jennifer delivered James Jacobus this past week!
Congrats Koos and Jenn...welcome to parenthood!
(Jennifer and I have been friends since 7th grade.
She lives across the ocean in Aberdeen but thanks to FaceBook we talk lots!)

Whewwww

Who is the fastest engine today?
Socrates

Happy Days!

The delight of a special surprise.
Thank you, thank you for my Thomas-wear!
Carter's favorite thing to do this week is to play with the torment everyone in the house with Halloween window clings. They are super scary and produce a squeal and a whewwww from everyone. I think we have a prankster on our hands! atd

Mud Patch

The Monster Rippler was a big hit with mommy and daddy.
Good thing Carter would slide down in our laps.
We would have looked a little silly sliding by ourselves!

"I got crazy eyes!" This week Mark told Carter he had crazy hair.
Carter replied with no I don't I have crazy eyes!
Carter wasn't too interested in finding the perfect pumpkin.
He didn't understand why there was a need to keep looking.
He was happy with the first one he came to.
Got...water? This "cow" had utters that gave water instead of milk. CW loved to play in the water and meet another kid named Cater while we were "milking."
The safest hayride every...in a steel cage.
Saturday we took our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. It was very muddy from all the rain. Carter LOVED running through the corn maze. He liked going between the stalks or tunnels as he called them. The mud road the tractor had mad from the hay rides were train tracks to CW. This boy could relate anything to a train...toot toot! atd
