XBox Rookies!

I have laughed SO hard this weekend! Friday we took Carter to the "bowling area" as he called it. Who knew that bowling allies now have skating rinks, laser tag, bumper cars, bungee jumps & so much more. Carter finally talked me into getting onto the bummer cars and I laughed and had the best time.

Friday was an odd day. No one went to work. No one went to school. We had a special day as a family. AJ was even happy...most of the day. CW wanted a special trip with daddy to the bowling "area." When they came home we all went out to dinner (@ 430pm). The new bowling alley was SO cool mommy wanted to go too. So we went back a second time.

Today Papa Jerry & Nana Ruby came for a visit. They brought us dinner. We had a great time watching AJ in his high chair. However, the true highlight of the day was Papa Jerry playing XBox. I thought I would bust a gut laughing so hard. It was great to see my own Daddy being so funny.

Saturday we talked to Carter about doing chores and earning money, because he was just a smudge ungrateful when we left the bowling alley. He wasn't too happy about "working." However once he found out he got money he was a little more interested. Tonight he came into the kitchen and asked, "Can I put anything else on the table?" It was sooo sweet & sincere I wanted to kiss him!

Carter got a short new hair cut yesterday. He looks so stinking cute I just want to squeeze him constantly. Oh how the days are flying by SOOO fast. These are the good times. When they are cute & innocent! Although he did look at me at the bowling alley and say, "Oh yeah mommy, your just a fool!" Well we had a BIG talk about what it means to be a fool & a schooling in Biblical principles when we got home! But mostly the sweet times outweigh the rotten ones for both boys. =-)

5 Months old

First time in the highchair. Watching AJ wrestle his toy was very entertaining.

He worked so hard to maneuver it that he blew out his diaper!

I simply cannot believe that AJ is 5 months old today. That is almost half a year already! Where has the time gone?? Mostly it has been consumed with crying and wailing...but perhaps those days are fading into glorious smiles and coos. At least on can hope! But then again I often feel like crying from 5pm-9pm too.

AJ isn't rolling anywhere yet. He has thought about it a few times. He probably decided there was no point because with a little fussing someone will pick him up and take him to where he wants to go. He loves to blow raspberries. Which drenches his shirt in about 5 minutes. Don't think about putting a bib on him because he will pull on it so hard that he will surely break it!

Daddy & Carter are good at making AJ laugh. I get tiny giggles from him when I bury my head into his belly. AJ seems to think Carter is the funniest person on the planet and often I beg CW to entertain him for a few minutes so I can potty in peace!

Today AJ wouldn't fit into size 9 months slacks. Those little thighs & hips are so irresistible that you can't help but pat them! Do they measure leg circumference for infants? Perhaps we should participate in a research study for largest & CUTEST baby legs!

It was 24 degrees today. We stayed warm by staying at home. AJ screamed for his supper tonight. THREE bowls of oatmeal before he passed out on daddy's shoulder.

December 29, 2011 4 Months Old

What is it about that silly cloth diaper?

AJ pulls and tugs and fights with the cloth diaper until he falls asleep.

As a clarification....it has never been used as a diaper.

I took 37 pictures before I got one decent one! We had family pictures made this morning. I forgot AJ's pants and Carter refused to cooperate for most of the session. I really don't know how photographers put up with other peoples children! Maybe because they are cute??

I think I have camera fatigue! I didn't take ANY pictures at Nana or Papa Jerry's & Nana Ruby's house. Mark & Lisa took the above photos. We visited with everyone. AJ spent his first night away from home and did pretty well in the car. Expect for the diaper blow out in Red Boiling Springs. At least we made it to the gas station before they closed so I could wash my hands.

Our elf appeared sometime in December. Her name is Agent E. I'm not sure why she is a girl, but CW gave her a spy name because of his obsession with Finn McMissile. She has hung from the light in the foyer, appeared in closets, on the tree and various other funny places. I hope her last flight back to the pole was a safe one because we hope she returns next year!
