Thomas in his Skivvies!Carter was sick during Trunk or Treat so I opted to take him to a few houses in our neighborhood on Halloween. A few weeks before Halloween, Mark and I were discussing how Carter would probably never go treat-or-treating the way we did...house to house. I thought it was kind of ironic that we ended up doing that.
Our adventures started next door with the Cox's. They invited us over for a bonfire while their granddaughter Shae was there. Shae and Carter always have a good time when they are together. Carter didn't want to wear his Thomas costume. Instead he wanted to wear Thomas pajamas. He had been sick all week, so I quickly caved in and agreed to let him wear them. After all it was Halloween and he could technically wear what he wanted.
I made a spontaneous decision to go to the Johnson's after the bonfire. (The Cox's live on one side of our house and the Johnson's live on the other.) Julie had a HUGE bag of goodies ready just for Carter! We went to 3 more houses and called it a night. We were back home in time for Carter to hand out candy to a few goblins. I had a blast and really enjoyed it.
All 3 sets of Carter's grandparents have commented in recent weeks that he is really acting more like a little boy versus a toddler these days. He can verbalize SO much! Yesterday he told Mark to mind his manners.
There was a HUGE train exhibit at the Science Center this weekend. After winding our way though the exhibit we headed to Phillips Toy Mart. Then we meet Grandma and Papa at the mall to ride the train inside the mall. SO much excitement in one day is just exhausting to think about. Carter fell asleep in the car just as we got home. He woke up and told us he was too tired to take a bath. However I was not about to let all those yucky germs in my bed. He was asleep in about 2 seconds after he got his pj's on.
Wednesday Carter is going to have surgery for ear tubes, tonsillectomy & adenoidectomy. As a parent I feel really bad that he doesn't have a clue what is about to happen. We plan on trying to explain a little bit of will happen to him starting tomorrow (Monday.) I think I will make a trip to Bowling Green to get some of his favorite blue ice cream from Chaney's dairy barn too. Please remember us in your thoughts and prayers as we cross this hurdle this coming week!
CW is having great fun telling everyone what he wants for Christmas. He spied the toy catalogs at least a month ago. So if you talk to Cater between now and Christmas he will probably tell you what he "needs Santa to bring him." =-) atd
