Carter started asking to go outside and make snow angels as soon as it started to snow. We didn't get enough snow for pretty snow angels, just Mud Angels
Early December snows are not typically for middle Tennessee. However, we got a “good dusting” recently. CW did not have “the proper” gear to play in the snow. He now has long mittens that come up to his elbows and a snow suit on the way. We just need a sled to be sure that it does NOT snow again this winter. If I’m prepared…it won’t happen.
Carter started wanted to eat with the "gray" utensils aka big people flatware. I made a mental note to remember to put that on the blog.
The next day we were at the Shepard’s breakfast at Church making cards for people who live in the nursing home. I asked Carter to write his name on the card he made and HE DID IT! I had no idea he could write his name. Only his mama would have actually recognized the line/shapes on the paper as being his name but I was so surprised and sad. (Sad because someone else taught him to write it.)
This was our schedule one recent Saturday: that day at Shepard's breakfast at church from 9-11, 10-11 Lowe’s Build and Grow, & Karley's birthday party 12-2. At 2pm we went to Wendy's for lunch. Carter had wound up tight all day long. Mark and I were both about to snap. I tried to lighten the mood by stating that Carter is usually such a good kid. He has one bad day and mommy and Daddy are giving him tons of grief! He BURST into huge crocodile tears... "I guess no good report to Santa!" My heart began to break! I said, "Oh Carter, Mommy had already sent in your report. You are on Santa's good list. Remember how your name is on his list in the Olive the Reindeer book?" He dried up the water works as quickly as they started and said oh yeah it is already on his list.

The crazy scheduled was totally worth it. Carter learned a happy birthday Jesus song at the Shepard's breakfast & sang it while sitting in the pew with us at church the next week. It was fantastic to see the Sugg's too.
He must have been hearing about being on Santa's naught list at school. I immediately cursed his dear teachers for teaching my little angel about being on Santa's naughty list. After all Carter is an angel all the time right? Ha-ha. Now I've been using the Santa's naughty list for all it is worth! I'm not sure if it is just excitement over Christmas or what but the boy has been crazy wound for the past few weeks. However, the childhood excitement and wonder about Christmas had certainly sparked a renewed interest in decorating, sight seeing & other merriment for Mark and me. Merry Christmas! atd
