We went to the park because it was a very nice day outside.

Notice the blue ice cream still on his mouth...it stayed there till bedtime!

Carter and a friend from school.
The forecast for Wednesday afternoon was 3-5" of snow. (Remember 10 days earlier we were at the park!) I was working an hour away in Clarksville. So when the snow started falling I headed home. I arrived to pick Carter up ~2:30, and he was still awake. He has some magic '3 year old wiggle power' that just won't let him nap too much anymore. Personally, I could NEVER lay down for over 2 hours and not fall asleep.
I have been gone working alot lately, so it was just a little unusual treat to spend the afternoon with him. The snow really wasn't sticking so I took him to get a much needed hair cut and then for ice cream. During the 20 minutes we were in Maggie Moos the snow began to stick and the roads got very slick. It took us about 45 minutes to get home instead of the 15 minutes it should have taken us. Carter fell sound asleep about 10 minutes into the journey. I have NO idea how he could wiggle on his cot for 2 hours then fall dead asleep after ice cream. Once we got home he continued to sleep in my lap for another hour or so. (Which I was drinking in because snuggle time with a 3 year old just doesn't happen often.) My new theory is Primrose should have blue ice cream with marshmallows and m&m's everyday before nap and wa-la CW will sleep. Nice theory, right?
This weekend Carter went to a Garret's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese's. Garret must have invited the WHOLE class. This was our first birthday party invite from school. From the looks of the pictures the kids all had a fabulous time! (As a side note Garret is not the friend pictured above. I didn't get the parents permission to post the picture so I figured I'd better skip the name.) Carter ate two pieces of pizza & two pieces of cake & two packs of sweet tarts! By the time I got home @ 2:30 he was SOUND asleep in our bed with Mark. See sugar equals a good nap...eventually.
We had a couple other first recently too. Carter spent the night at Nana's house a few weeks ago without Mommy and Daddy. No tears. No fussing. In fact he BEGGED to do it. It was nice to be alone. We had take out pizza. I spent the night in my recliner surfing the web & Mark was in his chair watching a movie. Nice together time huh!
Uncle Bill & Aunt Peach came to visit last weekend. Carter hasn't seen them since he was born. He had a wonderful time spending the weekend at Grandma's and Papa's with them. He took up with both Bill & Peach like he had know them forever.
CW even got to go his first Super Bowl Party hosted by Grandma & Papa. He didn't understand why we couldn't watch Thomas instead of the game. Given the outcome we probably would have been better off watch Thomas. (Sorry Peach!)
For those of you where are wondering. CW had hot dogs for dinner after pizza, cake & candy...that nutrition degree shames me at times. Yet today he was running though the grocery carrying a can of black beans going "bean-ies, bean-ies, I can't wait to eat you!" He was also singing "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 I caught a hare alive" all though the store. atd
