I think Geary maybe one of his biggest fans!
Styling with Mommy's shades.
Carter and I took a trip to my grandparents farm in Kentucky. Everyone had great fun, and of course plenty to eat. I did forget to take his shoes, but we were going to Kentucky so what did it matter?!? I think the Turner's enjoyed Carter showing off his piggies!
Tonight I said, "boys it time to eat," and Carter came into the kitchen. To see what was for dinner. I was amazed that he knew to come to the table. He was probably amazed that I was "cooking" dinner. Mark didn't come too quickly because he knows the only thing I know how to fix is left-overs and frozen pizza!
Jokingly this morning I told Carter I was going to count every time he said ut-oh today. Next to oh-no and the occasional opps, ut-oh is probably his most often used phrase. Even if something is done initially it usually gets one of these three phrases. Opps is even said complete with a head shake and hands in the air every time. CW's other favorite thing to say is "where go?" This game last for at least ten minutes several times a day. Carter will take something hide it, ask you where it went and then tease you for a few minutes before he shows it to you.
My little cutie wants to hug all his stuffed lovies these days. Probably just another bedtime procrastination, but adorable non-the-less. Bed-time the past month has not been fun. I have been getting VERY frustrated and usually end up having to break out the "mean mommy" voice. So the past few nights I took Carter and laid down with him in our bed. (Cater HATES doing that for some reason and kicks and screams when I head to our room.) Tonight, after the screaming stopped, I scored at least 20 extra kisses and hugs while lying with him. Finally, I told Carter (very nicely) I was about at the end of my patients and he went to sleep about 10 minutes later. Maybe "mean mommy" needs to go learn some manners instead of getting all uptight after an hour of bedtime struggles.
Today Cater had his first injury that needed a band-aid. He cut the bottom of his foot on a board in his room. (We set his humidifier on the board.) His foot didn't even bleed, but it was a very sad incident for mommy. Carter cried every time he walked until he got up from his nap. I guess he had forgotten about it by then. Anyway, back to the band-aid. We decided to put some ointment on the cut and put a band-aid on it. Carter did not like the band-aid at all, so then we had to pull it off. It was a super-sticky band-aid to make matter worse. Mark assures me there will be lots more injuries to come, but I think my heart will always break when tears roll down that sweet little face.
Carter made stinkies in the tub for the first time on Wednesday night. Thursday night he tossed his cookies. I cleaned up Wednesday night, so it was Mark's turn on Thursday. We are still debating who got the worst detail.
Time change is a cruel joke on parents. No one ever explains these to the little ones!
