Big Changes

Who is my next target?
I like to help mommy dust.

Singing in the rain.

Covering my ears to protect them from all LOUD
noises has become a must since Mommy made me watch fireworks.

Carter has been a bit obsessed with Thomas and trains since January. I mean crazy, can't leave the house without them, must have them to eat, go nuts for trains. However, this weekend he actually asked to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! Oh you don't know what a relief it was to watch something different. I wouldn't say he has the same fondness for Mickey yet, but he did ask for Mickey stickers at the store this weekend.

There was a few months that Carter sat on the potty all the time at school without a fuss. Never did much but would sit on the potty. He has NEVER wanted to sit on the potty at home. We have had a potty chair in the bathroom for 6+ months without him sitting on it. In fact, anytime we mentioned it he would scream "no sit potty." I took some advice from friends and stopped mentioning the potty, but left it sitting there just the same. CW would occasionally ask to wear pull-ups. I'd respond with "when your ready to sit on the potty then you can have big boy pants." Then on Friday, out of the blue Carter says, "I want to sit pee-pee potty." Mark and I were astounded! So we spent alot of time on the potty this weekend without results. His buddies at school must have told him to try it at home so he could get candy. He was all about getting candy, after he had washed he hands of course. I even let him pick out special candy at the store for sitting on the potty. He chose Fruit Loops, with a little help from his dietitian of course.

Carter wanted to go outside and play on Saturday. He loves holding the water hose. I have been anticipating being his target with the water for some time. Saturday I was trying to take some pictures of him outside and he decide it was time to spray mommy! So I dart into the garage to protect the camera and he starts spraying the water on my car. Normally that would be no big deal but Mark had just washed and waxed it. At least the little stinker helped me re-dry the car.

Carter ask "Whose that?" alot these days. The phrase is also doubles for what is that.

This week CW has learned that green means go at traffic lights and repeatedly yells green until the light turns green. Then yells GO MOMMY, GO! Red lights must put a damper on his busy schedule.

Carter had his 2 year old check up this week too. He weighted 27#5oz and was 34" tall. I think this may have been the first visit that I didn't have a list of questions ready for the doctor. Mark and the doctor were speechless about my lack of questions.

Last night I had CW in the bed with me. Carter and I fell asleep and Mark got up. A few hours later Carter rolled off the bed. Mark and I were very upset and trying to see if he was hurt. All he wanted was "yellow" (which translates to his yellow blanket) and to go back to sleep. Mark was trying to see if he had a bump on his head and Carter says "sleep." The little fellow just went right back to sleep. I asked him today if he remembered falling off the bed and I think he actually did remember it. He got a deer in the headlights look and rubbed his head, but quickly went back to playing with....you guessed it trains. toot-toot! atd
