Polite Potty Stories

Thinking Faces complete with tongue just out of the mouth.

Today was a HUGE day at the Dodd house. Carter told me he needed to make stinky-ies in the potty and DID! Three or 4 weeks ago he saw a puzzle at the store he wanted. I told him he could have it when he went stinky-ies in the potty. The next day I went back to the store and bought the puzzle, brought it home and hid it. Carter found it about a week later. I left it in the garage and when he was getting out his tractor he discovered it. (I've really got to work on my hiding skills, huh?) Carter mentioned the puzzle most every day since he saw it in the store. "I don't get the puzzle today?" "I didn't go stinky-ies in the potty today...no puzzle?"

I was SO excited to let him have the puzzle tonight. Carter did an excellent job of putting most of the pieces of the puzzle together himself! However the puzzle was a little overshadowed by his new train, Aurthur.

The normal Monday - Friday routine is Mommy takes CW to school and daddy picks him up. Lately, Carter has been pitching a royal fit in the afternoon when Mark picks him up. The ladies at school tell me he throws himself to the ground and starts screaming, "I want mommy." This makes Mark feel GREAT! Last night we told him if he threw the fit today he would be in BIG trouble with daddy and MOMMY.

On the way to day care today he asked me where Daddy was going to take him when he picked him up today. I replied, "I don't know, but if you are nice to daddy he will probably take you where ever you ask. I bet he'd love to take you to the park and go down the big slide with you." Carter relied he would like to go to Wal-Mart and look at the trains. He said, "I'm going to buy Emily with the controller."

So Carter was very nice to daddy at pick up today, and asked Mark if they could go to Wal-Mart. They did and Mark said it was hilarious. Carter wanted EVERY train there and couldn't decide which one to buy. Finally he settled on Aurthur. The puzzle took a back set to the train, tracks, and gold-car with with a flip-over feature.

So here is the polite part. When Carter left school today he said to Mrs. Johnson (the director), "May I please have a sticker." This was a HUGE as pooping in the potty. He actually said please without having to be told to say it!!!

An hour after "the big stinky" CW peed in the floor. Oh well, progress is progress, right? The funny part was when I went to clean it up the pee it was gone. I was quiet certain the cat had cleaned it up. Mark assured me he had cleaned it up not the cat =-)

Today was filled with laughs and lots of joy! On top of that it was a BEAUTIFUL day out with signs of spring everywhere you look. Pictures of Carter and Aurthur to follow! atd
