This past weekend we went to Kentucky to visit the Turner's. Carter went to an airshow with Papa Jerry and Nana Ruby at the Tompkinsville airport. He wanted to ride in one of the planes until he heard how loud they were. After the airshow we celebrated Carter's birthday with his Great Grandparents and Uncle Geary too. He had a cool Mickey Mouse cake and enjoyed eating LOTS of icing.
Later the same day we got a surprise visit from Aunt Verna and Grandma & Pawpaw Dodd with more birthday surprises which was a wonderful treat! I'm pretty Carter will continue to celebrate his birthday for the entire week since his party isn't until Sunday.
Carter has made great progress on using the potty...at least today. Tomorrow things may change. On the way to T-ville he told me he needed to stop and potty. I was so stinkin' proud of him I bought him a train! We have been giving him coins for using the potty, but he just doesn't seem to understand that it takes ALOT of coins to buy trains. Tonight I realized he rarely sees us use coins or tickets (paper money) so why would he get the concept of using coins to get tickets to buy trains. Then I googled preschoolers and learning about money. Kiplinger's said he isn't ready to learn those concepts yet. Mark was super impressed that I was relying on google for great parenting advice. =-) atd
