Falling IN

The tech-y boys!
Have gotten off their bottoms!

I've know since the ultrasound lady said Carter was a boy that this day would come. Mark has been talking about buying a game system for all of 2010. I seriously was concerned about the amount of time CW wanted to spend playing on the ipod & computer games. Mark decided on an xbox. Both of them are totally hooked. They haven't sat down for over an hour! I'm guessing CW will sleep good tonight.
I took some video of Carter playing the games tonight. I told Mark I'd take some more in a week because the little guy will have mastered them by them. Why does technology come so easy to kids? I'm going to teach him 5 languages before he is 5!
Last week Carter had strep throat and bronchitis. I thought having his tonsils out would prevent strep throat! Was the rough recovery worth it?? They called me from school on Thursday afternoon. I just knew he didn't seem quiet right that morning, but took him to daycare anyway. POUR on the mommy guilt!
I didn't think the doctor was open on Friday (12/31) so I didn't take him then either. Well the doctor was actually closed on Saturday not Friday. So we had to wait until Monday to go to the doctor. He had a rash all weekend. That I thought was strep but would not let myself to believe it was strep because he had his tonsils out so he wasn't suppose to get strep!! Monday morning we got up VERY early and were the first ones at the doctors office. The strep test was negative and the doctor seemed to be kind of clueless (not our normal doctor).
We started antibiotics and they called on Tuesday and said the culture for strep was positive! So there are several lessons for me here: don't take your child to school when you KNOW he is sick, call the doctors office to see if they are open, don't believe that removing tonsils will cure all ails, and see your regular doctor!
Tuesday morning I sent Carter to go potty. I heard a bang / rattle that sounded like the toilet slamming against that back of the wall. Before I could get to my feet CW started wailing. I turned the corner to find Carter IN the toilet. The only thing out was his little head and feet. He had put both seats up and tried to sit down. I was laughing so hard while assessing that he was not hurt. He was crying. You guys know what a "germaphobe" I am. I immediately "decontaminated" him with a scrub down. He was crying the whole time. After he calmed down he told me he was upset because he had gotten his pj's wet not because he was upset about falling in the potty.

Several months ago I put some blue tablets in the toilet tank. Mark and I have been joking about how they were never going to go away. When I told Mark about CW falling in the toilet his response was, "does he have a blue bottom?"
I'm off to get another game for the xbox to hold us though the next week. We are suppose to get 2-5" of snow tonight that won't be melting for at least 5 days. In Tennessee, that means we won't be going anywhere for 5 days. I excited about the snow, but I don't know that I can stand 5 days at home with my already jammed packed schedule....guess God knows we need some family time huh? Sleep tight! atd
