Clean Toilet & Big Bottoms

Saturday Carter and I went to Kroger to buy milk. He told me he wanted to go to Ross and look for a toy. I agreed, but he thought all the toys were too expensive. I'm not sure what his budget was but we left without a toy. I was certainly astounded! Of course he cost me about 10 bucks in Kroger and my gallon of milk was 40 bucks!

Saturday night Carter got in to a hurry when he was going to do his business. He fell into the toilet again. At least I had cleaned it earlier that day. He was 15 kinds of upset but didn't want to tell me what happened because Mark told him I would make him take another bath. =-)

Carter told me that I would never fall into the toilet because my bottom was too big. At least he followed it up Daddy's bottom was too big too! Tonight he told me I couldn't run very fast because my belly was too big. I said, "oh don't you mean because my belly is too big AND I have a big bottom." His reply was, "no there is just a problem with your big belly."

Sunday night we were coming home from church and we had the windows down on the car. Carter wanted to know if he could fly his kite when he got home because it was so windy. This conversation lead to a major science lesson about engines and the "other stuff" under the hood of mommy's car. Mark showed Carter all the parts under the hood and told them what they do and explained how the engine propels the car forward which creates wind. (It certainly wasn't windy enough to fly kites.)

This morning was another tearful drop off for me. Parent's are strongly encouraged to drop their kido's off and not get out of the car. I just wasn't ready to trust that Carter would find his way to his room and be ready for class in time. I figured he would stand in front of the aquarium in the lobby for an hour. He kept telling me he wanted me to walk him in everyday and I sort of enjoyed holding his hand while we walked up the hill. Knowing much too quickly he will decide he doesn't want to hold my hand in public anymore. There is only 10 minutes from the time he can arrive in his class until class starts, so I was usually still in the room when class started. I knew this was a distraction the other kids and probably annoying the teachers.

Today I asked CW if he would like to wait in the cafeteria with his friends until time to go to class. I thought it would probably be about 5 minutes before he would be dismissed to class. I walked him into the cafeteria, found his friends, and I started to leave. He gave me TWO kisses before I left. I sat outside the cafeteria trying to be sneaky to see if he was going to be okay. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and went to peek in on him. So much for being sneaky because he busted me in about 5 seconds. His class was just leaving the cafeteria and walking up the hill. He was all smiles and said bye mommy in such a sweet little voice I started to cry again.

I finally broke down and e-mailed Carter's teachers today to see if he was behaving. Their reply was YES but occasionally he has to be "encouraged" to sit down. Don't' all 4 year-olds have to be "encouraged" to sit?? They also said he did a great job getting ready for class without me being there.

On the baby front we hit 37 weeks today! So baby Andrew is full term. I'm fully ready to give Mr. Fitness America his eviction notice! Today I thought he was going to punch his way out of my uterus. Seriously kid stop beating up your mama! Come on out and meet your family! atd
