Hold your ears because Mommy is going to BRAG! I went on Carter's first field trip with him. The class went to the Frist Art Museum. It was a LONG bus ride. (Well 45 minutes is a long time with 8 pre-k kids.) Thankfully 7 of the kids had their parents accompanying them on the trip. The bus driver paired up with the kid that didn't have a parent along. Most of the kids pretty well behaved, but my Carter was out of this world. He did what the teacher asked, listened to mom, used his manners, waited his turn & more. I could go on for hours. Two of the kids were SO bad they didn't get into the covenanted treasure chest upon their return to school. Those two kids even had parents there! I was SO very proud of my boy's behavior I could have burst!
On the way back I gave Carter my iphone to play games. I donned my shades & snoozed (sort of)!
Art Quest.
Notice the Band-aid. There is no injury, but Band-aides are cool when your five!
All the little monkey's sweet as can be!
I'm writing this six months after the trip. I can't believe how much Carter has grown & changed since these photos! He is still a great kid. And has only gotten in trouble ONE time all year at school. That was because he told the physical education teacher the game they were playing was boring. =-) Pre-K x 2 was the best decision we could have ever made for Carter. Today (January 26th 2013) he is going to a birthday party for twins that he should have been in kindergarten with this year. He makes no fuss or mention of that fact. Just that he wants to go to the party. Kids are so resilient I really didn't think he would be so accepting of the fact that he was not going to Kindergarten, but alas it is rarely mentioned!
