CHEESE!

Wednesday August 27th Carter took his first steps. I wasn't even looking at him. I was sitting in the floor reading and saw him walking toward me in the corner of my eye. It was a moment of mixed emotions. I was happy for his accomplishment but sad at the same time.

Later that same night he learned how to remove the clip from my hair. Then he tried to put it back in.

CW also got two new teeth this week. That is 12 down and only 8 to go!

I have really been amazed how he knows what lights are. Not all lights look the same and even if the light isn't on he still points at it and says "ight"

One night before I went to bed Carter noticed I had a horse on my shirt. He just pointed to the figure on my shirt and said "orse." Again this took me by surprise because picture of horses can look very different. (i.e. real horses, drawings of horses, stuffed horses, and the one on my shirt was just a shadow of a horse.) So the next morning I go to his crib to pick him up and he looks and my shirt and says "orse." I had on a different shirt at this point and I said "there is no horse on this shirt Carter." Later at breakfast he said it again. I looked at my shirt closer and it did have a caricature of a horse on it. (My how I love bragging on my smart kid!)

Carter also loves to get in the fridge every time the door is open. He just wants to stand there than touch all the stuff in there. And he gets very mad when you close the door before he is ready for you too!

CW says it is good to walk like an Egyptian! atd
