Carter went to the doctor with me on Friday. As soon as he heard Baby Brother's heart beat he said so casually to the midwife, "There is a baby in there." I tried VERY hard not to let him know that baby brother was in mommy's belly. However, he informed us on Mother's day that his brother was in mommy's tummy. So much for innocents. Thanks alot world!
I was a little skeptical to take Carter to the midwife office with me because I'd had to wait a long time at my last few visits. I promised to take him to the park if he was quiet while I talked to the doctor. We were in and out of the office in less than 30 minutes, so we headed to Centennial Park in West End. We had a fabulous time and found two little playmates. Both were much younger than him. I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful and nice he was to both of them. Not pushing or running over the smaller kids.
On Saturday we found some long lost friends at Chic-Fil-A. CW helped our friends little girl who climbed to the top of the play-place and became scared. It was nice to see him be kind to other kids since I don't get to see his everyday behavior at school. He does get alot of bad notes from school, but mostly they are because he is being silly during the pledge or prayer.
During our before bed chat Carter broke out the statement, "That's interesting mommy!" I was sort of astonished that he knew how to properly use the word 'interesting.' Before the week was over he told me that "everything keeps distracting me" and "does that irritate you mommy?"
Saturday we planted some seeds with a little terrarium set I purchased. Carter had been asking to plant some seeds so he was SUPER excited and very interested. He has probably checked on them 5 or more times to see if they have grown in the past 36 hours. I have no idea what we will do with the plants if they actually grow because we didn't till the garden this year...larger pots maybe?
The baby and I got a good report at the doctor. We go back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound to make sure he is still growing. From the punch he packs these days and the size of my belly I'm pretty sure he is doing just fine.
Last week I forgot to mention that I was in Atlanta for 3 days. When I got home the boys had made me a HUGE welcome home sign, bought me flowers and cleaned up the house. My favorite part was the sign. It was hung from the garage door and and went up and down with the door.
I hope everyone is enjoying these blog updates. I'm pretty sure all your going to get once baby boy arrives are a new pictures occasionally. =-) atd
